Input Search
Introduction
Currently we have a reports page and table that gives us a list of reports that we execute and it works well. However, there are 3 issues that it fails to tackle.
Users seldom will remember the output report name and id. However, they will remember the input that they have used to generate a report. We do not have a search where a user can put the inputs and get all the report that were made using it.
Input/Source, Insight report, Pre-flight and activation are somehow connected and a part of a flow. Seeing this flow it give us an idea of the kind of inputs are used by the clients and where do they drop out, giving us a clearer picture of confidence they have. The more number of activations, the higher the trust, is one of the assumption we can go with. It will also give our customer success team to reach out to the users and investigate why are they holding back. We currently do not have a UI that links an input with its output in a hierarchical way.
We can search for insight and preflight reports, but we cannot search for campaigns, adsets and ads that links us to the right page.
What will be different?
There are a few things that will be different here:
The Table: It will go from a simple row and column based table, to a hierarchical table that will have reports lined up as pre-flight that will be a sub set of Insight, which in turn will be a subset of an Input. On the other hand, an ad will be a subset of adset/adgroup, which in turn will be a subset of a campaign.
Search Bar: You will now be able to see a search bar where you can enter the parameter you want to search with.
Deprecation of Reports page: Once this page gathers speed, we will deprecate the current reports page, in a matter of 1 or 2 months.
How will this help?
The table will help you view reports and campaigns/adsets/ads in a hierarchical or thread format.
The search bar will make it really easy for the user to enter one or more parameters to filter the search
Deprecation of report will lead the users to just one page where they are search for reports they are looking for.
Demonstration
There is no demonstration for this feature. It would be best to try it for yourself and share your experiences.
