Intent Pre-flight Additions
Deeper, Fresher, Broader + Removing duplicates
The problem we are trying to solve.
In the latest update for the Intent Pre-flight module, we have introduced some special distribution charts for the URL plan. Once you have selected the desired number of line items for a URL plan, you will be presented with two charts. The first chart is the category distribution chart, which is displayed as a pie chart. By selecting a specific section of the pie chart, the right-hand card will display the top domains corresponding to that selected section. If you do not choose a specific section on the pie chart, you will see the overall top domain results.
However, there is one crucial feature missing. Currently, there is no activation feature available for URL video or keyword from the Intent Pre-flight module. As a result, users are required to download the final targeting information and manually upload it directly into the DSP (Demand-Side Platform).
From this point, there can be two possible situations:
If the user decides not to activate the plan, there will be no impact.
If the user chooses to activate the plan, there is no way for us to receive confirmation.
In such scenarios, there are two ways you can optimize a campaign:
Users can assess the performance of their targets and optimize them based on the data they gather.
Users can periodically return to the Pre-flight module to obtain updated URLs and video URLs, allowing them to keep their campaign current.
While the first point can be addressed through the Improve module, the update we are discussing here is focused on point #2.
What is the update?
There are two situations in which a person may use the Pre-flight module:
Creating a Fresh Plan: When a user is creating a plan from an insight for the first time, a new card called "Dimensions and Exclusions" will appear. This card serves two primary purposes: a.
Avoiding Duplication: In the first dropdown, labeled "Avoid Duplication," the user can choose to either "Allow Duplication" or select another pre-flight report and exclude targeting line items from that selected report.
Excluding Blacklist: The next dropdown allows users to exclude blacklisted URLs, videos, channels, or URL categories. Users can select the name of the blacklist they have created under their organization settings.
In addition, there will be a "Data Type" dropdown where users can specify whether they want a URL plan, channels, and video URLs for a video plan.
Finally, the "Generate & Download" button enables users to create the targeting line items and download them in CSV format.
Revisiting an Existing Plan to Enrich It: When a user revisits an activated plan from Pre-flight, aiming to enrich the current plan, they may want to accomplish three objectives:
a. Fresher Links: To obtain URLs or video links added since the last activation.
b. Deeper Links: To acquire more relevant URLs for enhanced performance and scale, based on previous campaign success.
c. Broader Links: To experiment with a broader set of URLs or video links that are relevant to the ones the user had entered.
The card "Dimensions and Exclusions" will appear again with a dropdown called "Planning Dimensions," offering the three options mentioned above.
The subsequent dropdown for excluding duplication will function similarly to the first-time plan. There will also be a link to download existing URLs below this dropdown.
The "Exclude Blacklist" dropdown will have the same behavior as described previously.
The final dropdown is the "Data Type" where users can select either URLs or domains for URL plans, or channels or video links for a video plan.
Once these selections are made, users can generate their targeting line items and download them as a CSV file.
Benefits
These features were added based on a direct client feedback a simple benefit is to provide more flexibility and convenience of operation to our clients and users.
